I used to see this sentiment a few times about how using filters or certain layer modes on your art is "cheating". But then I started experimenting with it and it's pretty complicated and time-consuming to get the desired result.
So no. It's just another tool one can learn how to use.

So this year's christmas stamps sold by the German Post are AI generated. And they have the audacity to call it an "illustration". I'd be laughing if this wasn't enormously messed up.
