We have found a couple that have become our best friends. Their daughter is the same age as Harvey and we hang out every Friday night, around the fire pit, talking about our lives and we just laugh. Been doing this for about a year. It makes me so incredibly happy.

I have really not been on twitter since the election and I do not get on bluesky nearly as often as I used to twitter, but I do miss the camaraderie. I have to talk to my IRL friends a lot more than I used to. lol.

My son was off school today and is off Monday. I’m taking it easy this weekend and hanging with my family. They deserve some of my attention.

Also, I edited and finalized multiple motions and discovery requests. if I actually billed for everything, it would have been insane. Oh and forgot about the multiple hours I spent on planning the seminar I am chairing.

I felt like it was an insane week, so I counted how many emails I sent. 322 emails. Then I was curious how many emails I received (substantive only) 583. If i billed a 0.1 for every email, id have 90 hours. I was also in at least 3 hours of meetings a day, and had a deposition.

My job will kill me, but I feel like I have “golden” handcuffs. I probably don’t make a lot as some but I feel like I make enough to be stuck here. I hate it.

Broke down and got the Dyson airstrait because my corralle doesn’t hold a charge anymore and I’m
pretty impressed! Took about 10-15 minutes, wet to dry, and my hair is straight. Maybe a bit more “poofy” than I like it, but still straight!

It is such relief and I am so lucky to have a supportive family and the means to keep up with my payments but FORGIVE STUDENT LOANS (I know it's a pipe dream now, but still).

I have paid on time, every month, since 2011 (yes, even through Covid). I kept increasing the amount I paid every year as I made more money, but the 7% interest rate was brutal. I never refinanced because stupid me thought that maybe I would get SOME forgiveness some day.

Because they can afford to help now, and my parents are the most amazing people in the world, I just paid off my student loan. Because they have changed providers on me so many times, I have no idea what I paid over the life of the loan, but I am guessing it is over 3x the original principal.

I started tracking calories today because it’s the only thing that has ever worked for me. It only works while I’m doing it though but I need a jump start to get back to healthy.

My in laws are going to Trump’s inauguration and it is taking everything in me to not cut them out completely. I won’t do that to my son because he loves his grandparents but I’m disgusted.

I did kind of ignore my actual job this holiday season. Other shit going on that was stressful, but my current job allowed me to decompress and nothing really blew up.
