Posting trivialities

A nuclear family chap from North Wales
And despite that, I still feel disappointed every year or so after a quick google to see no new album from Conor Deasy or rumours of a reunion. No pleasing some.

The Thrills - a beacon of light, projecting a real sense of hopefulness to myself via fantastic songs. A favourite band of mine, lost to time and calling it a day 17 years ago. No legacy tarnished, just great songs and the rose tinted memories.

If there’s one account that will remind me to come on here then it’s probably yours to be fair

I’ve gone from listening to news podcasts most days, 2 hours a day of news on in the background + further scrolling political reddit during work breaks. I’ve reduced this down to about 10% max of my old intake over the last 6 months or so.

Highly recommended to anyone with similar habits. ✌🏻

Countless hours in the living room this week has shown me that Australia is undoubtedly the king of kids TV

It has taken until my oldest daughter has turned 5 to critique our Christmas, we ate too early and shouldn’t have gone for a walk apparently. Feedback noted.

Things are good but I don’t think I’ll ever have the energy to take my coat off.

Thought I’d give The Office (Australia) a go. 10 mins in and I really think you don’t HAVE to have the Gareth/Dwight, Tim/Jim and Dawn/Pam, this many years on it feels too much like a retread. I’ll stick with it for a bit though.

Feel good vibes and performed in a style that you and the kids can see in your local Town hall/leisure centre, this is wrestling.

Okay, I think we might be back baby

Any other Welsh football fans still recovering and feeling a bit fatigued from Rob Page’s last 18 months or so in the job? My only prediction is that the joy will come back eventually.

It should obviously never change its name but being asked by my daughter why it’s called Netflix made me realise how dated it sounds

I’ve got to say I was disappointed and presumably this is why the noble concept of a late 90’s BBC animated adult show has sort of been swept to the side to be forgotten about…unless I’ve been living under a rock?
November 18, 2024 at 6:42 PM
The show is essentially an endless beating down of the titular character, lacks warmth, humour and stakes that encourage you to want to stick around.

The show lasted for 2 seasons but for something which had everything going for it except its execution…

The familiarity of the animation style, the backdrop of busy day to day life late 90s London feeling quite prominent of TV of that time gave this the ingredients of fondness and nostalgia without having ever actually experienced it before - this was until I actually watched it.

A Klasky-Csupo production in this era being set in London with an accompanying British cast is also a bit of a mind fuck.

I was born in 1990 so an adult animation (that happens to be British?!) from this era was and still is prime for me to scoop up.

I recently became aware of the 1998-2000 adult animated show from Klasky-Csupo ‘Stressed Eric’.

The familiar animation style immediately transports to that era and feels familiar even with the fact that I hadn’t even be aware of existence until last week.

I’m not here for the politics, at least not yet. The idea of posting trivial bits and bobs that come to mind felt more and more out of place on X. I’m viewing this as the light place.

I wish that the Katy Perry MySpace era was on my radar at the time. This Alanis like emotive pop masterclass could have been everything.

Shout out to the Windows movie maker (probably?) SFX also.

I think I’m going to post on this a bit to encourage me to engage with it as it does seem nice, also aesthetically better than threads which is a plus…or is that just because of 15+ years of being conditioned to white and blue?

But the fact is wet and whet are not interchangeable, and they have diametric connotations: wetting one's whistle "quenches" (thirst) while whetting one's appetite "stimulates" (the desire to eat, as well as drooling).
