Sports fan - Spurs, Saracens, England cricket, MotoGP. Ex-football comms. A little bit sweary.
Watched #LastOneLaughing. I'd be useless on such a show. Throw out an innuendo, insult, slapstick or toilet humour and I'd be out of the game. Excellent mood booster of a show 👌

I'm obsessed with #Virdee - binged it on iPlayer. Love that it's set in Bradford, the religion dynamics, and the Luther-like vibes from DCI Virdee. Staz Nair is an excellent lead.

I needed more people to warn me about the emotional roller coaster that was Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy. Sobbed and sobbed some more. Hugh Grant was exceptional - he really has gotten better with age.

Spurs goalies have aged me by about 20 years this season. Cos, you know, it's not hard enough to be a fan 🫣 #ArsTot

I've listened to ONE YEAR'S worth of Wolf & Owl podcasts in one month. I've even (temporarily) stopped listening to Greg James in the morning. Think I may have a problem

Oh, to have the blind optimism of a three-year-old. Despite explaining the injury crisis, sickness bug and quite frankly diabolical form against Newcastle, the little man has declared: "Spurs are going to do great. Kulusevski's gonna score the first and third goal." #TOTvNEW #COYS

Nice to start the year with a not-so-humble brag. If you want to do something new/good/get free biscuits, give blood (if you can). #Giveblood

But he's a repeat offender who had been on the police's radar long before the robbery and attempted murder. Surely, his escape proves how much of a risk he is?

Caught up on Wallace & Gromit. Exceptional. Poor old Gromit puts up with an unreasonable amount of crap. 'That's an innocent nun' - one of the best moments of Christmas telly ever.

Christmas Eve eve - it's easily the best day of the year.

Is it safe to come out from behind the sofa yet? It was a nightmare before Christmas at times 🫣
INTO THE SEMI-FINALS!!!

Quite clearly, New Zealand exposed a lot of flaws in England, who remain brilliant and mad in equal measure. A real hammering. That's England men's last Test until May, which is utterly ludicrous. #NZvsENG

What a brilliant documentary. He was such a generous soul. And hot. Not sure that was meant to be the takeaway 😂

But why is Tim Southee nick named 'sexy camel'? No one has explained it. #NZvENG

Chris Woakes has bowled beautifully so far. Line and length spot on. I should go to bed, but this spell is captivating. #NZvENG

Erm, @yorkshiretea.bsky.social , say it isn't so. I've just heard the Toast & Jam tea has been discontinued. 90% of the tea I consume (and it's a lot) are these 😭.

This part, in particular, resonated so deeply with me.
"Time is supposed to ease grief, but it sharpens it too: time passing means that your time with the person you loved grows further away. That holds its own grief. They recede, you keep moving on a path they can no longer join."

@geofflemon.bsky.social has written a beautiful piece about the anniversary of Philip Hughes' death.

If you've ever suffered a close bereavement, this manages to explain some of those unthinkable and unimaginable moments.

Wild.
We can confirm that Guglielmo Vicario has today undergone surgery for a fracture of his right ankle.

Guglielmo will be assessed by our medical staff to determine when he can return to training.

We're all behind you, Vic 🤍

No IPL deal for Jimmy Anderson. So, nailed on for Oval Invincibles or Manchester Originals in summer '25. Surely?

Brilliant. Bonkers. Infuriating. All in equal measure 😅. Being a #Spurs fan is the ultimate test of character. #MCITOT

Love this. Cary Grant in 'An Affair to Remember'. One of my all-time favourites. They don't make them like him anymore.

Sat near some old dears in a cafe and tune into the conversation.
"Have you ever been to Ann Summers?" A resounding 'no' - apart from one. "Oh, I have. I could tell you some stories." Well, go on, Mary. Start talking.

Listened to the latest Tailenders podcast (loosely-cricket based, if you're unfamiliar) and discovered not everyone's listening to podcasts/voicenotes at 1.5x speed (at least). I presumed this was standard.
