I was at a party & some normie who sees maybe 5 films/yr said, “Ugh you’re a film critic? Bad profession rn because movies are so bad.” I moved away from him fast. But anyway, if you look at this & go, “movies nowadays are bad,” you’re possibly just…stupid & have no use for culture in your life.

This lineup is exactly what the Academy votership overhaul several years ago was going for: More room for genre. A year when the huge, popular movie with the black cast ISN'T the surprise "Oops" omission. And a more international look--nineteen nominations for foreign films this year.

Really content with the #Oscars nominations! Especially happy for #ElleFanning who is as great as all the other nominees from Sentimental Value - a film I love a lot!

It's #Oscars nominations! Perfect occasion for my 1st post. I've placed 16th with winners predix in 2024 on #AwardExpert, hope to be as good today. But it's pretty difficult this year which makes it a lot of fun! I'm predicting a strong F1, Sorry, Baby in Screenplay & Plemons in Actor. We'll see!
