I know Domark (UK dev) used Fuji TV and FOCA licensing for its F1 game (aptly named "F1"), but Microprose doing the same is news to me. 😛

From my understanding, licensing was actually sourced from Fuji Television (and FOCA) alone – it's something basically all Japanese devs did back then as it was a lot cheaper than asking it directly from the FIA. :P

The game didn't even have DirectX support out of the box! But knowing the Linux community I'm sure they made it work. :D

I still really like MGPRS2 for the damage and weather model, it was really good for 1998!

Of course you know about the infamous "Green Hell" track from MGPRS2, haha. I think there also are a few mods that cover the '50s in F1 Challenge 99-02, but I don't think those qualify since they're not vanilla content. :P

Fourth overall third place in a row and fifth class win of the season on what had been my worst rally by far 12 months ago! 🐌

Now I just need a 4th place in either of the next two rallies (which are worth double points) to bring the title home. Gotta listen to the snail and not be greedy!

🥈 Round 2 of the Digital Rally Italia season saw a bunch of firsts:
– First podium of the 2025 season (matching my best-ever result);
– My first ever stage win in a DRI event (by 0.2 seconds!);
– First time leading the overall standings in the championship!

Hopefully we can keep up the momentum. 🐌
