Last time Wrexham played Cardiff was the semi final of the FAW Premier Cup in 2004. We won on penalties and I remember it being freezing and lasting forever. The win in the 1995 Welsh Cup final at the National Stadium was probably my favourite game against them.

So of the four sports teams I support - Wrexham, Wales, New York Mets and New York Jets - the one that won a game the most recently was the Mets and their season finished in September.

I have to say the Carabao Cup is growing on me. It has now gone comfortably above the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup in my rankings. Only the FA Cup, FA Trophy, LDV, Welsh Cup, FAW Invitational Cup and Isle of Man Trophy ahead of it now. #AskWxm #WxmAFC

He left early in the 82/83 season but he’d have worn it for 81/82. We had the same kit from 81 to 84 and then a very similar one for 84 to 85 just with a Crosville sponsor on it for the first time. They did a collarless version for the Porto game in 85 I think.

Wrexham promoted, Chester & Stockport lose in playoffs, Cardiff and Shrewsbury relegated. We were a Tranmere relegation away from the perfect season.
