Dunstable Town
The line connected East and West Coast mainlines passing through Luton and Dunstable. The station closed in 1965 but the line lingered on over many years for freight traffic. It "reopened" in 2013 as part of the guided busway to Luton.

Cheslyn Hay
This is north of Birmingham and was closed to passengers in 1965. The freight only line reopened to passengers in 1989 but a new station nearby, Landywood, opened rather than reopen this one.

Strange sign on turning off today's vehicle; should I expect people to spontaneously appear in the back of the car?!

Sorting a schedule to get here when there are trains using this platform has been an issue since it opened in May!

Littleton [and] Badsey
Another double-named station not in either village. The line is still open as you can see and some platform footings remain visible out to the side of the loco.
The tithe barn is some 800 years old and one of the best of its kind in the country.

BUNNY BISCUIT!🤯
That's clearly the spaceman we never quite got to know well enough filling his helmet with a mix of blood and brain matter.
Enjoy kids!

Passenger services finished 7th Sept 1964 but the line remains open to this day for freight. The building is long gone but was similar to that at Desford, the next station west. The castle was started in the late C15th but never finished because politics.

Mop Cop & Scholar Green
One of those weird places where the title contains the names of two villages, neither of which are near the station! This closed in 1964 but as you can see the line is very much open. Mow Cop castle is a folly but the view is worth the effort.

Arram
Another day another station! One of 9 in the song that stayed open. Arram is easily the least used, sat at the end of a long cul de sac with the tiny village. Probably RAF Leconfield that kept it open. This was one of the 11 services all day that actually stop!

Topically with this week's commemorations here is a WWII pillbox on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. Nearly 30 thousand were built in case of German invasion and some fifteen hundred remain, a reminder of what might not have happened 80 years ago.
