Last night, I attended a phenomenal Judith Hill concert at the Dakota. I had been under the mistaken impression that she mostly stuck to piano with occasional forays into guitar. Wrong! She fantastic on guitar, and we could hear quite a bit of Prince’s influence on her playing.

The other day, I realized that I had not made drop biscuits in probably 20 years. So I decided I would mix some up and then find something to eat with them. Tonight’s lucky winner was a can of acceptable beef and barley soup.

I fried up the last of the mushrooms tonight. They turned out even better this time. I sautéed them with onions, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and a big chunk of butter!
