amen. I'd much rather have it be slightly inaccurate but they still attempt to follow it, than remove it. manifesto's should not be dictated by technicalities and laws, I want to know what you stand for. and by removing something, you are saying you no longer stand for it.

they just announced a new CEO who has clearly drunk the AI coolaid and thinks that it needs to be a major part of firefox's focus in the next few years. I highly doubt he'll do a 180 and say "nevermind no ai at all". And even if he does it's hard to trust someone who thought that was a good idea.

but the problem isn't this one little feature being annoying, it's that the people making decisions for firefox thought anyone wanted or needed this built into a browser, especially firefox.

Too little too late. The fact that you're forcing AI into your browser and dropping privacy promises means you've already made the decision to stop caring what your users want, and instead do what Wall Street wants.
The problem isn't the AI, its that you thought adding it was a good idea.
