I like soft things, quiet times and the sound of the wind through the trees. The smell of the woods and life without clocks. Doggie kisses on my cheeks and the taste of pizza. The kinder, gentler nature everyone has inside if they stop and feel, and crisp autumn mornings when the dew turns to frost.

Boy have I ever been there a couple times lol These days Amby just sleeps on top of me keeping me pinned down so I don't roll around too much in my sleep and potentially fling him off the bed XD

I definitely have some childhood memories of finding well enjoyed copies of Penthouse and Hustler in the woods, often with certain pages mysteriously stuck together lol At this point though I think I'd rather find a cute abandoned plushie in the woods hehee 💦🧸

I was out walking in the woods this afternoon when I stumbled on a small clearing with a little circle of stumps and a couple old, faded children's books in the middle. I honestly wasn't sure if it was whimsical or a trap, so I decided to not touch the books just to be on the safe side >.>

That seems like a sensible explanation to me! It's easy to forget sometimes that up until the mid 20th century in much of the world there weren't grocery stores where you could just walk in and buy what you wanted to eat. Hunting, fishing, and keeping a kitchen garden were necessary parts of life.

The real head scratcher is why the creatures of the woodland would mourn the passing of someone who spent their life murdering them. I get the sadness of the horse and dogs who were hunting companions, but the rest are a bit of a mystery to me.
