Journal page reads: With Shaqilles’ help it took no time to get to the Scarlet Marauder’s house - I think it was called Valkin manor or something like that?
Turns out the guy is pretty chill, he’s more of a sad lonely old man than anything. He’s really old so he knows a lot about history and stuff (I have to find some time to pick his brain about it all!!). He’s even been to the Feywild before - knew what I was an everything!! I got pretty confused when he mentioned the Eladrin not having an archfey because we have Orinia but he didn’t recognise her name.
When I mentioned Orinia he pulled out this ancient book of prophecies from the Feywild and asked me she looked like this one page that was about the first Eladrin archfey - she didn’t look anything like that!! First of all she’s a summer Eladrin but the one in the picture was an autumn one and nothing else about her matched the picture either!! So now I need to figure out who (and what) this imposter is and what they’re trying to do (I am also very suspicious she may be involved in the Willow Mother’s poisoning). Oh yeah! The Scarlet Marauder also let me keep the book of prophecies which I am very excited about!!! I can’t wait to show Desir my new book (If I can get him to take a break from his work for it that is).
Gandeverous and the Scarlet Marauder had a nice moment where he asked for forgiveness for killing that one giant ages ago and Gandeverous said he forgives him. He then asked we find him a successor for his monster hunter thing in exchange for translating part of the tablet and Gandeverous volunteered and was told he had to prove himself capable. We were all asked if we wanted to help out in this trial fight and everyone said yes so he transported us to this arena with a rather imposing looking minotaur in it.

Journal page reads: We won the fight and apparently that’ makes us all worthy of doing the next step to become monster hunters - while I’m honoured that the Scarlet Marauder would extend this invitation to me I’ll be passing on the whole becoming a monster hunter thing since I’m really just not built for that kind of thing. Gandeverous seems to think we should all do it because of course he would (ugh).
Before we left I asked him about which archfey were around when he visited the Feywild - he said the Willow Mother and Kalysses - and he mentioned how Kalysses seems to be shady (which I agree with he’s always been weird). During the conversation it came up that Gandeverous had accepted a bag of holding from Kalysses (I told him not to but did he listen to the person who has lived the the Feywild for a little over 100 years? No). The Scarlet Marauder told him off for taking it in the first place and explained how he would now have to feed the bag an item everyday or risk going missing forever.
Unfortunately we had to walk the whole way back to camp as Shaqilles had to leave. On our way back I told Banthrax I liked his face (it’s a nice face) and asked which name he preferred to go by (Banthrax). During the walk back to camp Bal lost his mind a little over how Gandeverous was managing to be sneaky despite the fact that he is 8’5” tall and not exactly hard to miss in most situations. Nebula seems to think his reliance on stealth makes him cowardly (lol).

Journal page reads: After the fight was over Hewit came out to meet us and invited us in for tea. He told us about his dedication to his love for gardening so we’ll be keeping an eye out for any cool plants for him (I also gave him a Kenneth seed). Oh he also gave us a spyglass that shows you the way to your heart’s desire to help us find the Scarlet Marauder - we all took turns looking through it, there’s something Feywild related for me halfway between camp and and where the Scarlet Marauder is at (Banthrax said he didn’t see anything but he was pretty fixed on a point towards the dunes where his tribe is from - we don’t have any deserts back in the Feywild but I’d be interested to see one, especially with company 😉).
Anyways! On our way to find the Scarlet Marauder we met up with a unicorn my dad sent to find me - his name is Shaqilles (idk how to spell it 🫤). It was so nice to be able to talk to my parents again!! I’ve missed them so much since I’ve been banished again!! My dad told me how the Willow Mother’s poisoning wasn’t a ploy to kill her (duh no way there’s a poison strong enough to kill an archfey) but to incapacitate her long enough to usurp her and steal the title of archfey supreme. He knows how to cure her though and already has most of the ingredients he needs to do it but there’s one on the material plane he needs me to get - we don’t know what it is yet but the spyglass should be able to help with that. My mum also made us all some bread since the others liked it so much last time (they even chant for it and everything lol I’m just glad they appreciate her - everyone should because she’s the best!!!).

Got another gap in appointments at work again today so here are some more pages while I wait

Journal page reads: When we got to shore I figured Hewit probably lived in the only house in the abandoned town that had a roof but Lance felt it necessary to use the spell locate person to confirm that yep he’s in the only house with a roof *sigh*.
Before we could make it to the house we were approached by a small group led by some guy calling himself ‘the Butterfuly’ who I guess knows Gandeverous? Anyway they said they were here to kill us on behalf of some Baron guy the others stopped before I met them - honestly you can’t go anywhere with these weirdos they always get you into some sort of trouble. Our would be assassins made some kind of magical darkness that I wasn’t able to see in at all - at least I was still able to see the rest of our little group excluding Current who had gone missing by this point.
Both the mystery of where Current went and why he seemed so angry at the others was solved pretty quickly when Nebula was thrown away from the rest of us and I heard Current’s voice yelling that his name was actually Banthrax and that he was here to get revenge for the rest of the group’s involvement in his brother’s deaths - which is just wow! I am such a sucker for a dramatic entrance and I mean I get it I don’t know what I’d do if someone murdered my parents.
I decided to follow them because let’s be real - I’m not much help in a fight. Anyway I saw Current - or I guess it’s actually Banthrax - holding on to something invisible which must have been Nebula and not wearing the armour that had been completely covering him before and holy shit man! He is very handsome and a very nice shade of blue, like seriously even snarling in anger he looks so stupidly good! How is it even fair for someone to be good looking, funny, and strong!

Journal page reads: To help calm the situation down a bit I used a lullaby my mum used to sing for me to channel my emotion calming magic. Fortunately it worked and I was able to convince him to talk things out with Nebula and I. It turns out the whole situation leading to his brothers’ deaths was a rather tragic misunderstanding- honestly I really wanted to give him a hug, those always make me feel better when I’m sad and I can’t think of much sadder than losing your family like that. Nebula even apologised to him (I’m so proud of her!!).
While the three of us were doing all of that the boys were off doing some fucked shit in the fight, Gandeverous murdered an unconscious guy Vali knocked out and Lance bit someone which I guess made the vampirism worse. Lance’s face does this now.
Banthrax borrowed a dagger from Nebula and threw it hard enough to cripple the Butterfly’s leg so I gave him mine too and he threw it hard enough to pin the Butterfly to the ground - it was super impressive!!
Idk what the fuck is wrong with Gandeverous but he went up to the pinned Butterfly and just ripped his face off, the butterfly mask he was wearing was sown into his actual face.
He has since washed the viscera off the mask/guy’s face and is now wearing it attached to his belt which is super gross.

Journal page reads: The other night I was settling down outside to trance for the night - what can I say I like watching the stars - when I saw something cuuuute!!! Nebula and Fergus were huddled up together chatting by the campfire. I already knew those two had something going on and this seemed like a phenomenal opportunity for them to get closer. Poor Nebula seemed to let her nerves get the better of her so I used message to help her out with what to say. They ended up falling asleep leaning on each other in front of the campfire!! Adorable!! ❤️

Journal page reads: Faustus sent us on a mission with Bal to track down this Scarlet Marauder guy. Apparently he’s some sort of legendary monster hunter who killed a giant - they’re gods on the material plane - I guess he’s also the only person who can still speak/read ancient giant so we need his help to translate the stupid tablet Faustus is obsessed with.
We started out in Cantorp but since it was their god the guy killed they didn’t really want to talk about him. The current mayor - a Druid who was in the area for his own reasons and got roped into being their new mayor - told us to track down the old mayor since he would have the information we needed and would be more willing to talk to us (I also got permission to plant Kenneth in town).
Old mayor - his name is Hewit - lives in the Old Grand Cities which means we had to cross a body of water to get to him (or we could go through the Clouded Acres but a spooky necromancer lives there so no). After much struggle Gandeverous and Vivzie managed to make us a boat to get across. I spent the ride over talking with Current because he’s the most interesting person I’ve met on the this plane - he’s so hidden by his armour you can’t even tell what colour his scales are, he seems a little gruff and standoffish, sometimes he sasses me but seems surprised when I sass him back, and who wouldn’t be a bit of a fan of the guy who broke Lance’s leg, tbh I just really want to get to know him better! For some reason he seems to really hate the other members of the party (not me though!) and is trying to hide it.

Anyways! I was doing that when I heard the most beautiful song I’d ever heard coming from somewhere deeper in the forest. Obviously I followed it but it turns out that it was actually a banishment curse and now I’m trapped here on the material plane. 😒

Gorilla-bot is from a series of satirical characters based on endangered animals who are brought back from extinction in the future as androids forced to perform menial and dangerous jobs. Seems one of them has had enough!

Here's that Earth-themed light attack vehicle, a bit smaller than the other two in the series but it can still dish out some major damage!
Usually when we think of "earth" as an element, it suggests feelings of being immovable and slow, so it was a fun challenge to try and turn that on its head!
