Company in Solitude presents the Writing Challenge. This is the first part of the fic: "Viktor's eyelids seem to gravitate together like magnets, but he refuses to acknowledge how it takes him a second too many to reopen his eyes after every single blink until the words start not only not making any sense, but blurring over the page until they seem like nothing more than blobs of ink. Still, he blinks a couple more times for good measure. He can barely tell in which language the book is in anymore. He pushes it away from him with the heel of his hands before covering his own face and leaning back on the chair. The groan that leaves his throat is equal parts frustration and satisfaction at the relief for his sore neck. Where he expects to hear an inquiry about his current defeat, or perhaps the soothing noises of pages being turned accompanied by the gentle scratch of a pen, there's nothing. For a peaceful minute, he doesn't move, basking in the temporary relief to his stiff muscles. If he doesn't change positions soon, he will most likely succumb to the temptation of sleep. It wouldn't even be the most careless way in which he has fallen asleep since he came to the Academy. He's almost tempted to let it happen. Especially as one single look tells him all he needs to know about Sky's current progress in her studies." Company in Solitude presents the Writing Challenge. This is the second part of the fic: "Almost unconsciously, his hands move from his own face to hers. It's squished against her notebook, mouth slightly open as if she was in the middle of articulating a thought in silence before writing it down—an habit she seems to be quite fond of—, and Viktor takes care not too disturb her too much as he snatches the glasses from her face and the pen from her hand and puts both items beside her book. After he's done, he sits still, watching her back go up and down with her breath. He wonders at which point of the night she got too tired to keep going. It's not strange she tried to anyway. Neither of them can take the luxury of slacking, not when they came so far due to their hard work alone… and the occasional burst of luck. It's hard to think they're lucky at times, but here they are right now; in the prestigious Academy of Piltover, but also here, at the Library, at an hour that probably resembles the morning more than the night —it's hard to tell, as nobody ever tries to kick them out. Being Heimerdinger's protégé has its perks. A sore neck, however, does not. So reluctantly, he grabs Sky's shoulder and shakes her gently. "Sky, hey. You can't sleep like that." He shouldn't bother not to be loud when he's trying to wake her up, but it feels equally as compulsive as making sure she was comfortable enough before doing anything else."
