It's exhausting and messy and honestly I'm absolutely thrilled because it means she's feeling better. I think she's putting on weight and I think she's going to bring some vitality back to my old boys once they get used to her.

She has now become well enough that she is engaging in the typical kitten schedule: running around like a deranged toddler for an hour, crashing HARD wherever she is at the moment, waking up, pooping, eating, and starting the whole cycle over again

But after taking her to my incredibly skilled vets, she was put on the appropriate antibiotics and I gave her a flea bath and she is well on her way to making a full recovery.

Evidently she came to me with 2 bacterial upper respiratory infections AND fleas, both of which are things. I feel like the vet who examined her prior to me picking her up should have picked up on and, I don't know, maybe warned me about?

I officially have a new kitten! Talia (named after Talia Al Ghul because she looks like a desert princess and I'm a giant nerd who loves Batman) has arrived! She was found abandoned by my dad's friend who couldn't keep her.

She's around 2 months old (which I know is young to be separated from her mother but we had no control over that) And she's very playful and very sweet and she likes to sleep. I love her already

All of this Rapture talk is reminding me of a documentary I watched about a tornado and how one of the poor interviewees exited the yogurt shop he had sheltered in to find the town destroyed and desolate and his first thought was: Rapture.

I got it from both barrels, both of my parents are deeply autistic although if I'm being honest my dad is slightly more so. Evidence: his homemade dinosaur flash cards with the full Latin names written out that he made by himself when he was four. Not for school for his own purposes

Watching all these centrist pundits stress the “civility” of Charlie Kirk’s style without addressing the ugliness of his substance is giving me a renewed appreciation of how the civil, polite White Citizens’ Councils conned the same crowd into thinking they were distinct from the cruder Klan.
