I think this is the sort of stuff that really makes games like KCD2 work. It’s a work of historical fiction with an incredibly rich texture and immersion but also it’s a sort of goofy video game based on sword and sorcery movies like a Knight’s Tale or Excalibur or Gladiator.

I think if I wanted to be a handler I would want to be more of an instructor/inspector to see if pilots are qualified for proper conversion. Leaning down, checking teeth and life in a hound’s eyes. Looking up to its owner and carefully explaining what is to be done with it for the future.
