unironically a good writing/characterization exercise is deciding what kind of bigotries your blorbos would hold. you can't say you want character depth and avoid the ugly parts, and i don't mean ugly just as in "unpleasant presentation" i mean ugly as in actually harmful to society

some of us don't want sex hormones in us, period. i don't want testosterone i don't want estrogen. i don't want to transition away from one end of dysphoria to another i want something else that doesn't exist (yet) and it sucks and nobody wants to acknowledge that this is a thing or that it sucks!!

btw fantasy/sci-fi settings that have nonbinary characters while shrugging off the physical/sexual characteristic aspects are cowardly

like what not even a passing mention about sexual trimorphism or a way to avoid both male and female puberties without major health issues??

nonbinary people might not owe you androgyny but that and not having it be a real option at all are different stories

if you acknowledge that and still hc them otherwise then fine but stop being delusional about canon and creator intent!! that character whose obvious moe appeal is "still a man/woman even if they look androgynous" and whose marketing material all point towards that was not written to be nb!!!

as an asian nonbinary people need to stop being willingly dense when it comes to anime/adjacent media characters who designed for androgynous/crossdressing moe

namely i think people need to stop pretending they're actual transgender/nb representation. they're not and you know it don't gaslight me
