Thanks Rob. It was a wild afternoon out there then. The sea was boiling and the wind was ferocious. A great time on a great weekend beach though.

Beyond Mull - Camas nan Geall, Ardslignish, #Ardnamurchan

Sundown at Camas Nan Geall at this time of the year sees the Sun setting beyond the north end of the Isle of Mull. As it does so, it casts light on the southwest facing slopes around the bay.

Great Seas IV - Ardnamurchan Lighthouse viewed from Briaghlann, #Ardnamurchan

Ardnamurchan Lighthouse on the "Headland of the Great Seas" was taken on a stormy afternoon when waves whipped up by Force 7-8 winds crashed into Briaghlann and up onto the small coral sand beach on Dubh Rubha Mor.

It looks amazing in all conditions but yes, it was a shame about the contrail.

Yes, I was out other the other night photographing the stars and it was as quiet as you could ever imagine, but every now and then the roar of rutting stags would cut through the silence. Spine tingling indeed.

Above the Veil - Castle Tioram, Loch Moidart, #Moidart

A shot taken from above Castle Tioram on a misty September morning as the sun rose above the hills to the east, slowly burning off the wispy veil that blanketed Loch Moidart, to reveal the castle and then the island upon which it sits.

Thanks for the mention in this Rob. The colours of the Peninsula are too good to leave out, that’s for sure.

An interesting read about the inclusion of sound recordings in photography work.

An interesting read Rob, about the inclusion of sound recordings in your work. For me the silence seems the loudest when I‘m out in the landscape on the Peninsula and that comes through in your blog too.

Darkness Meets Twilight - Loch Moidart, Dorlin, #Moidart

The Milky Way appears in the southern sky above a boathouse near Loch Moidart as darkness falls, while twilight persists out to the west.

“The geology of Ardnamurchan is not static; it is a living archive. Each rock, each outcrop, tells a story of fire and cooling, of erosion and renewal. And in their colours, we read the deep time of the land.”

Autumnal Falls II - Carnoch River, Near Strontian, #Sunart

September brings autumn with cooler nights and misty mornings, just like this by the Carnoch River near Strontian. It was shrouded in mist, which eventually began to clear to let warm light from the rising sun light up the rocks around it.

Intricacy - Loch Sunart, Carnoch, #Sunart

As you drive by the head of Loch Sunart the salt marsh is hidden, but with a drone, this changes and you can see the intricate arms of the Carnoch River winding through a mix of land and water. A striking sight, especially at sunset on a September evening.

Yes Lisa, I’m afraid that recent tariff changes mean that I’m no longer able to ship to the US.
