My daughter has picked up the habit of teasing me about my increasingly tall forehead, but the first time she noticed the white streaks in my hair she almost started crying and tried to manually wipe it off of my head with her hands.

When I saw the robot bear, Teddy, in the Kubrick/Spielberg movie A.I., it was the only time in my life I regretted being born too early in history.

To this day, part of me is sad that I'll never have a small robot bear friend of my own.
