Yes, I got a few of those for retro PC use and put one on the GPU in my Win98 laptop. It seems to work but I do worry about it slipping out and causing havoc.

It's crazy because practically everyone building modern PCs goes out of their way to ensure they have SK Hynix RAM in their sticks for reaching the advertised DDR5 speeds.

That's definitely the problem if I had to guess, great catch. Normally you could just straighten them out, but the bottom one is torn from its pad. Any good console modder should be able to fix it for you easily though.
