Yeah, I did consider that, I just wish we didn’t have to parade charismatic megafauna to get money for stuff that will actually… do stuff. I’d like to see a mammoth as much as any mf but it’s sort of low priority.

Agreed. Besides… Can we not try and “de-extinct” way more recent casualties for which there is more data and extant habitat instead of these (essentially) vanity projects? Or maybe use this to get some much needed genetic diversity into endangered species?
