Here’s to 60 years of learning, collaboration and shared success. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, partners, communities and supporters. Here’s to many more years of sustainable development in Zambia.
Together, we’ve advanced rural livelihoods, build resilience and access to essential services-driving lasting impact for Zambian’s people and its future.
SNV Zambia marks 60 years of Partnership and Sustainable Development.
For six decades, SNV has worked hand in hand with communities, local actors, private sector, government, and funding partners to build inclusive, people centered solutions in agriculture, Water and Energy.
The solution? It's not just about finding more investors—it's about strengthening the entire support ecosystem that connects businesses with the right technical assistance and capital.
We mapped the inclusive business ecosystem across Cambodia, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Zambia and discovered similar barriers preventing inclusive businesses from scaling.
🔍 Here's the paradox: Promising inclusive businesses with solid business models still struggle to attract investment.
The problem is not necessarily lack of money in the system—it's that businesses can't access it.
These aren't just statistics - they represent farmers with better market access, families with clean energy, and communities with improved nutrition and financial services.
That's an average of 353,000 people per business - proving that inclusive innovations can achieve massive social impact when given the right support to grow and scale.
Do you have an example of how you are celebrating diversity in your offices, we will be happy to share in your experiences?

Let’s continue to celebrate our diversity and work together towards a more inclusive future for All.

🔍 Challenge Funds: What 600 Applications Taught Us

Challenge funds are powerful tools for catalysing innovation in emerging markets, offering competitive grants to businesses that can create both profit and impact.
IAP fund, lessons from supporting 600 applications | SNV
The third application window for the IAP Challenge Fund spanned approximately two months. Interestingly, despite the extended period, half of all 600 submissions were received on the final 2 days.
