Doppler Radar as of 11:59pm 2/16/26 - Heavy Showers and Thunderstorms are moving East through LA Metro area, with some heavy downpours in the Long Beach area. There have been multiple lightning strikes associated with these cells. #CAwx #LArain

GOES West Satellite - Clouds stream across #SoCal as a Low Pressure System approaches. The main Frontal band will reachi the Central Coast this afternoon and will reach SoCal this evening, bringing the first rainfall to the area in weeks and snow to the higher elevations above 6,000ft. #CAwx

The West Coast Ridge that has been dominating California weather will break down, and a series of Troughs will approach the region. Signals for a return of a colder & more unsettled pattern by mid-month continue to increase among the various Guidance tools. Noticeable changes in #SoCal weather are quite possible as early as the 11th/12th.

The warm & dry pattern will continue across #SoCal through the next several days. There are some signals in the long range Ensembles that point to a West Coast trough pattern around Feb 11th/12th, but that's still too far ahead to put much faith in just yet. Worth keeping an eye on though. #CAwx

Composite Radar as of 12:37PM 1/22/26 - Showers continue across portions of #SoCal as a cutoff Low moves Southeast towards Baja. Showers will continue to be possible in Northern areas through tonight, and across Southern areas through Tomorrow. #CAwx

1/2) HRRR Simulated Radar through the next 48 hrs - A cutoff Low Pressure System will bring unsettled weather with a chance of showers to #Socal Thursday/Friday. Due to the scattered nature of the showers, some areas will receive little or no rain while others may receive as much as 0.25" - 0.5".

GOES West Satellite - High Clouds are streaming into California ahead of an upper Low that is heading East into Baja. As it passes to the South of #SoCal on Thursday/Friday, there will be a chance for anything from sprinkles to an isolated shower, particularly across Southern locations of SoCal.

80° Temps will continue across #SoCal into the MLK Weekend. Temperatures will then moderate somewhat as we head into next week, with high temps in the 70's across Metro Areas. However, the West Coast Ridge looks to continue bringing fair & dry weather through at least the next 7 days. #CAwx

Looking ahead to next week - A Ridge of High Pressure will dominate the West Coast, with temperatures warming into the upper 70's across #SoCal Metro areas by midweek, with some Valley locations into the 80's. West Coast Ridging will persist through at least the 20th of the month. #CAwx

Chilly overnight temperatures are on tap tonight for many locations across #SoCal, particularly the High Desert, as a passing "Inside Slider" system brings a cold, dry airmass and offshore winds to the region, with wind-sheltered inland Valley locations seeing low temps into the upper 30's. #CAwx
