#Sociology shows masculinity is not in crisis. Instead, Prof Stephen Whitehead shows that some men struggle due to their rigid gender ideals. "Male fundamentalism is an unapologetic, explicitly anti-female, misogynistic position adopted by men." www.nationalworld.co... #socialscience
Masculinity Isn’t in Crisis — But Some Men Are
The idea that masculinity itself is collapsing misses the real story. Across societies, men are dividing into three distinct groups: those adapting to equality, those adrift in confusion, and those turning towards fundamentalism. The future of gender relations, argues Dr Stephen Whitehead, depends on which of these masculinities prevails.

Tech companies scraped copyrighted material without consent to train AI models. Yet universities penalize students for using those same models in papers. A sociologist argues the ethical blame shouldn't fall on students alone:
Student cheating dominates talk of generative AI in higher ed, but universities and tech companies face ethical issues too
A sociologist who researches AI’s impact on work and education argues there are ethical dimensions to generative AI that institutions are not considering.
