#LastFourWatched Surf’s Up was fun but I didn’t love all the VA choices. Basic instinct fucking ruled (Holy shit Sharon Stone) also Gus is funny as hell. Nobody was okay but the amount of needle drops was frankly insane. And Unknown Number was pretty compelling for how much I hate texting in movies.

Only one that annoyed me in Act 1 was going through Sinners Road bc of the broken bench. That’s on me though lol

Awesome movie :) apparently, Bugs Bunny was partly based on Gable from this.

#LastFourWatched The Naked Gun was pretty great and Neeson fits the bill perfectly. Donnie Darko gets a little messy and meandering but I still dig it. Liar Liar is one of the tapes I had growing up so I still love it and Tilly is a SMOKESHOW! And Rye Lane was really cute & just what I needed rn.

#LastFourWatched The Cameraman has one of the greatest monkeys in film history. The Greatest Showman is about PT Barnum and how the only thing he ever did wrong was care too much :). Anchorman still has some great bits and Get Out remains amazing. Mostly rewatches while working this week ✌️
Letterboxd last 4 watched: Get Out (4 and a half stars), Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (3 and a half stars), The Greatest Showman (1 star), The Cameraman (4 stars)

#LastFourWatched Udon made me hungry for 2 hours. Where the hell has Stay Tuned been my whole life? It rules. Pineapple Express still has some funny parts but I forgot how long it is (Craig Robinson is the best). I don’t think I really understood the end of Cruising, but it was still cool.

#100years100films Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans (1927): This was really lovely. What starts as a tense thriller, turns into a super charming romance and then a heavy drama. Really engaging throughout. It feels like a whole life experience in 90 minutes. Some of Murnau’s best work. 4/5

#LastFourWatched Gambit is very British w/ Cameron Diaz doing the worst Texas accent of all time. Fast Times has way more interesting teen characters than a John Hughes teen. Freaky Tales is trying a LOT of things and not doing any of them very well and Michael Shannon is CRAZY good in Bug 🐛

#LastFourWatched Weapons is exactly the type of movie I go to the theater for, super fun. Eddington is a tough movie to engage with but great art should sometimes challenge us. Sunrise feels like the full human experience in 90 mins and KPop Demon Hunters is a little messy but the music is stellar.

#100years100films Faust (1926): Incredible first half with some of the most stunning images I’ve seen. When the second half starts, the “love” story just destroys the pace and the relationship is pretty vile. Mephisto is hilarious throughout. Not since The Robot Devil has satan been so funny. 3.5/5

#LastFourWatched Death of a Unicorn was a fine monster movie with an especially good performance by Will Poulter. Faust was technically amazing and the first half is near perfect but the horrible “romance” that follows stinks. Contact is definitely better than Polar Express and The Naked Gun rocked🤘

#100years100films The Freshman (1925): Really heartfelt and entertaining throughout. Watched a very high quality version with a great score and foley work. One of the few onscreen romances of this time that I 100% buy. My new favorite Lloyd picture! I think I would be buddies with Speedy :) 4/5
