I think a lot of artists, especially newer ones, follow a tutorial or listen to someone talk about how they draw and take those rules as absolute gospel rather than something that works for a particular person in a particular situation.

I'm sad that these are the only copies of my jr high art from the late 90s, they got lost in hard drive transfers and failures and the fact it was over 25 goddamn years ago.

i will not be giving grace to people given power over others because mean things were said to them. this is the cost of the responsibility of ruling over others. if you act out of line, you should be held to higher standards because you already have greater control than others do. how is this unfair

I'm usually pretty precious about wanting perfect conditions for drawing and sometimes have a hard time getting motivated so a month where it's sit down, shut up and get something done is a fun challenge for me, while knowing it would be unsustainable over a longer time. And peer pressure.
