i hadn't heard of jazz pianist Jessica Jennifer Williams until a couple days ago, but wow these rediscovered prepared piano recordings are so good imo! she gets some really cool sounds to happen and has a great control over the relationship between timbres

nearly time once more to settle in on a beautifully cold night and contemplate the year as it ends. it was a notably awful year across the world, as has been every year i've lived through, but they've all had some good things to remember too.

“Puzzles of 2025” has been out for a week and already two people have solved the crossword puzzle! that means you could still be the 3rd solver, and then we'll be legally obligated to make a physical version to meet our foolhardy promise to give copies of said version to the first 3 solvers! wow!

i've been delighted to discover over the last several months that listening to audiobooks from the library is a quite effective way around the various OCD-related problems that have made reading books and other longer texts extremely and embarrassingly difficult for me, for like over a decade…

i hate war and i hate imperialism and i hate ethnonationalism and thus i've been continually ashamed for my entire life of the country where i live. it's meaningless to say this, particularly to an audience of no one, but i felt the need to say it publicly somewhere regardless.

wow! heady with lots of feeling is all i wanna be! plus i'm very ready to be at the forefront of a second wave of "indie classical". what the classical music world is missing is lo-fi recordings and getting notes wrong; i honestly believe this. thanks notype!
