Hi everyone! I'm a Derbyshire-based director (and fantasy nerd), specialising in magical-realism. I'm also the founder of a BAFTA-longlisted production company. I love telling stories about misfits & lost souls, using genre elements & cinematography to explore the depths of the human psyche.
Fantastic - thank you for the recommendation! 🦇🎃
No new blog post this month (too many edits to catch up on!), so I thought I'd re-share a post from around this time last year instead, giving a shout out to some great scary shorts and indie horror filmmakers:

Squad goals!! We were delighted to be invited back to capture this year's Beat SCAD conference, earlier this month. Such a lovely client to work for, and the day itself was filled with such positivity.

Last night's cinema trip: After The Hunt

Not a perfect film, and I totally respect why a lot of people didn't rate it. But I was frequently hooked (my heart was in my throat during one scene) and I adored a lot of the cinematography choices.

Brilliant interview with Rebekah Fortune on the BFI NETWORK Film Hub Midlands website, filled with useful tips on creating features & working with actors.

And I am so touched by the shout-out she gave me as well!

Thank you, Rebekah. You are an inspiration!

I only spoke to him briefly, but it meant a lot to shake his hand & thank him for the years of inspiration he's given me.

I was hoping I'd played it cool, but my expressions in the photos Nadine O’Mahony kindly took tell a different story... 🤦‍♀️ I truly hope Guillermo didn't mind my dorky enthusiasm!
An unforgettable night last night at the @directors-uk.bsky.social screening of Frankenstein.

Not only were we lucky enough to see the film early, but it was followed by a Q&A with @realgdt.bsky.social AND Alfonso Cuarón!!

And then I even got to say a quick hello to Guillermo afterwards.

One more screening for 'A Different Place'! This will most likely be our final festival screening, as it was the last festival we submitted the film to, but you never know!
Who wants one more 'A Different Place' festival screening? Go on, then! We're happy to say that the film will screen at Norwich Queer International Festival of Film on October 10th at 20:00 in the University of East Anglia.

Last night was the sweetest! Such a lovely community vibe.
Such a lovely night last night, at The Bottle Bank in Belper, where the local business owners all came together to watch the new Love Belper commercial we made. Everyone was so excited to see their cameos!

You can watch the film on the new Love Belper homepage: www.lovebelpercic.co.uk/home

A huge thank you to all the Belper businesses and volunteers who gave their time to the epic Love Belper commercial shoot on Saturday - particularly our hard-working actors!

We're very much looking forward to the edit, but please bear with us as we have nearly 600 lovely shots to sort through!
Sorry for being so quiet on social media recently - July was another hectic month, and I've just worked 33 days in a row (not that I'm complaining!). Recent highlights include: having some fantastic meetings in Soho & filming for a client in Hitchin.

We need a female supporting actor to join us for a one-hour commercial shoot this coming Saturday (9th August) in Belper, Derbyshire. You'll be required to join a family dinner scene in a lovely restaurant, eating & chatting on camera.

If you're interested, please email [email protected]

Last week we were in Hitchin, filming lots of content for our lovely client at Sankara Imports. It's always such a pleasure to work with them, and it was great to see their new shop (which is looking brilliant!).

We're excited to be doing more edits for Sankara Imports in the coming months.

The first half of the year ended up being really epic for me, so I've been meaning to update you all on what I've been up to. But I've been so busy that I had to write this blog post sporadically on buses & trains when I've been travelling to various jobs!

The Summer Update 2025
Well, we're very much past the midpoint of the year now, and an update on my work is definitely overdue. So here's a rundown of how the last six months have been for me...

Poster drop for Lacuna!! A huge thank you to Ignacio Mazuecos for your wonderful graphic design work, using imagery from the film itself which was of course beautifully captured by Seán Mackey and his team (full credits on my Instagram).

We've recently been introducing our new followers on Threads and Bluesky to some of our archive productions. How many have you seen?
For so many years I have wandered round Leicester Square, gazing up at all the epic cinemas and dreaming of the day when one of my films would be shown there. Well, earlier this month - thanks to NFTS and Prime Video - that dream became a reality.

People who attended our industry screening got an early glimpse of this image in the brochure, but I'm delighted to share it with you all now.

Lacuna is such an important film about life after trauma and the way we can use art to process our feelings.

I cannot wait for our festival run!
