It's finally here 🥳 UK publication day for my book, "Elizabeth Boleyn: The Life of the Queen's Mother", the first narrative biography of Elizabeth Boleyn. I hope my book leads to her finally being included in the Boleyn family's story. Buy it now from all good bookshops in the UK!
My very proud Dad found "Elizabeth Boleyn" on the shelf at Waterstones in Tunbridge Wells 🥳 I spent many hours at this Waterstones as a child, and worked there a few years ago. How lovely to know it's there ❤️

The @royalhistsoc.org is running a charitable donation campaign to fund the research of historians who lack support. The number of applications we're seeing is way up. I've been very lucky to have a career as a historian, I've donated, and I think this Christmas you should too. Pay it forward.

#OTD 1487, Elizabeth of York was crowned Queen of England. Though it is often claimed that Elizabeth Boleyn served in Elizabeth of York's household, I wasn't able to find any evidence of her at court before 1509.

I'll be speaking at Christ Church, Oxford, on 21 January 2026! I'll be discussing Elizabeth Boleyn's life, and how I was able to write a biography of a woman who has been overlooked and ignored for too long.

Tickets are free, but please book in advance: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/elizabeth-...

Latest update from @britishlibrary.bsky.social says they are launching a new version of their main catalogue on Monday 8 December and around that time also launch an interim version of their Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue. Hooray!

Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

I've been thinking a lot lately about Elizabeth Boleyn's ledger stone in the Garden Museum. It is on the floor of the gift shop without a sign marking its presence, whereas others buried in the church (for instance, Elias Ashmole) have small stands noting their places of burial.

A few photos from Godstow Abbey yesterday! Now in ruin, Godstow Abbey was founded in around 1115 by Ediva of Winchester. Rosamund Clifford is buried nearby, though the exact location of her grave is unknown.
