"Theory" is not a gift from the thinking society to those pseudo-researchers who strive to recycle commonplaces. Good theory invites us to think, to question it, to find flaws in what it proposes. To repeat the trite, let's rather stay at home.

Greetings from Kyiv
and our -14 °C.

If you wonder how it is here:
cold in the apartment,
and for the last few days, I’ve seen electricity only at night for 3-4 hours.

I’m having a second cup of warcoffee
and know that nobody helps us.
We will survive. Promise 😉

We’ve all seen it before in movies. The female character who gets into a car with a stranger or walks into a house when the door is ajar and looks like it’s been broken into. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Author Courtney Psak discusses this phenomenon in storytelling and how it underlies her latest novel.
When Women Ignore Their Instincts (and Why I Wrote a Novel About It) | Jane Friedman
One writer explores how women will rationalize away feelings of unease for the sake of pleasing others, and how we express that on the page.

Kyiv today

After the latest russian attacks on our energy infrastructure, power outages are severe and unpredictable.
Officially, it’s 9-10 hours without electricity and 3-4 with, but in reality, much longer without.

Heating is back in many homes, but those that rely on electricity for water… 1/2

Greetings from Kyiv
and warcoffee.

It’s -11 °C outside.
No electricity at home (hard to predict when it’ll be back – there are no schedules now).
But I had a few hours of power last night to do everything.

Life goes on.

ICE abuse at work!
Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.

FYI, when masked people (w/out IDs and warrants) snatch people off the streets, it's not an arrest.

It's a kidnapping aka Extraordinary Rendition, ER, which is unlawful on US soil.

That's the reason USA-CIA does ERs in territories where laws are relaxed.
