We have been celebrating Harvest in school this week, and each year group has recorded their own wonderful Harvest song! We’re incredibly proud of their performances and excited to share them with you.
Wolves had THE BEST time at Forest School this morning. Fresh air, mud and exploring the outdoors - the perfect way to celebrate World Mental Health Day. A huge thank you to Miss Stewart for organising a great day and to Mrs Cosgrove for a brilliant forest school session! 🌟✨
Red Squirrels joined with Bumblebees to have a great time taking part in Forest School activities. They enjoyed their time exploring nature and it was definitely good for everyone’s mental health.
🐝This afternoon, the Bumblebees joined the Red Squirrels in our Forest School to celebrate World Mental Health Day. We had a wonderful time chatting and playing together and even got to see some of our big brothers and sisters too ☺️☀️
Lynxes had a great start to the day at Forest School. The children had so much fun exploring the outdoors, connecting with nature and enjoying some fresh air and shared adventures.
Adders have been using concrete resources and engaging in games to strengthen their understanding of number bonds to 10. This solid foundation is now preparing them to confidently extend their learning into broader addition and subtraction concepts.
Starlings had a great morning in forest school. They worked in small groups to make homes for our furry visitors (Cuddly toys). Great teamwork Starlings!
Year 4 forest club had a great afternoon. First we had a new leader in the group who brought us her idea for a leaf family portrait. To make our families we needed to collect leaves so off we went on a hunt. Back in the forest the group made amazing dens for animals and a shelf of food to enjoy!
To celebrate Space Week, Year 1 took part in the Moon Landing Coding Adventure. They helped AL the robot sort out algorithms to get her to space, took part in a robot dance as well as becoming robots to sort out the moon rocks. We had great fun!
Huge congratulations to the Adders! Their hard work on the 2 and 10 times tables really paid off as they came out on top in the Adders vs Newts Times Table Rock Stars competition! 🎉 TTRS and NumBots are brilliant tools for building strong maths skills. Keep rocking those times tables Adders! 🔢
Year 4 forest club helped rescue this little spiked friend. It was tangled in one of the nets, thankfully the children noticed it. We cut it free and after a few minutes it scurried off. The children were very concerned about it so made a house for it.
Reception became Still life artists last week. To celebrate harvest the children observed fruit and vegetables, drawing what they saw. They took inspiration from an artist called Cezanne.
Blue butterflies had a lovely morning at forest school. They started the morning with a walk around the field hunting for different colours of nature. They spent the rest of the morning making natural art, some made a seesaw, others climbed the bark hill and most jumped in muddy puddles!
Reception celebrated Black History Month today by exploring the artist Alma Thomas. The children learnt about her and then used her work to inspire their own version of her work.
Year 2 forest club had a great time building, climbing and exploring. We had a worm visit us which seems to be the children’s favourite part of the outdoor at the minute! One of the children brought in an egg shell and some feathers they had found in their garden. We think it’s a wood pigeon!
