It is 1.6°C outside right now and my Daikin air source heat pump is maintaining my whole home at 20°C inside for only 764 watts plus it's totally covered by solar power. That's some kind of crazy magic.

The only way to guarantee you trigger the automation when the car charges is to use a power monitor on your charger. If power > 1kW, start charging batteries. If power < 1kW stop.
