Cosmos - Nexus - Max definitely doesn't feel nearly as cohesive of a unit as the TDG shows do, but Max absolutely feels like the predecessor to Mebius.

Alien Shaman sucks and is annoying, but also I feel like his inclusion was necessary for this to be a proper Showa tribute series. Not every episode had an immediately iconic foe like Eleking or Mefilas. Sometimes it was about a monster that made you pee.

Max Episode 15 comfortably takes its place in the pantheon of all-timer Ultraman episodes. It's basically all here. The tragedy, the hope, the science fiction ideas mixed with a fairy tale sense of wonder all wrapped up in one beautiful package. This is what it's all about.

Finally got to see Ultraman Arc The Movie! It was good! Arc was the first Ultraman show I started, so getting to come back to this world and it's characters was really nice, felt like we hadn't really missed a beat. Good stuff all around.

Interestingly enough, while Godzilla ended his original Heisei series with the introduction of Burning Godzilla, the staff at Daiei chose to end the Showa Gamera films by burning Gamera.

I think it's just lighting, but also the legs are white plastic, whereas the feet are painted die-cast. They're gonna look a bit different and reflect a little differently!
