Shutdown seems the same as no shutdown. NIH wasn’t paying before and it isn’t paying now.

If Trump appoints grant reviewers, will they appointees even understand the science they review? After all, Nancy Mace thinks scientists are making transgender (not transgenic) mice.
Trump order gives political appointees vast powers over research grants
Researchers are alarmed that the move might upend a long-standing tradition of peer-review for grants.

It rained in more ways than one on Trump’s parade.
Will it rain on Trump’s Parade?

Yesterday shows that if your approval rating is 38%, people think your parade is a bad idea.

The Oath of Office explicitly states, ‘I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.’

Foresworn and Unfit to be President.
Trump Says ‘I Don’t Know’ When Asked About Due Process and Upholding Constitution (Gift Article)

The Trump administration has frozen more than $1 billion in funding for Cornell University. The funding pause involves mostly grants and contracts with the departments of Agriculture, Defense, Education and Health and Human Services.

An op/ed on measles that everyone should read because "measles can erase the immune system’s protective memory of prior infections. This “immune amnesia,” as it’s called, leaves people vulnerable to viruses and bacteria they were once protected against." 🧪

I just went to check the LIVE @ senate.gov and Booker is still speaking this morning at 7:30 AM. Meanwhile, Musk is trying to buy Wisconsin by offering $20 per vote for Brad Schmiel. How is this not a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 597 ?https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/597

500 cases of measles in the US, 5 outbreaks in Texas, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma and Kansas, 2 deaths so far. If we are really are at a 70% vaccination rate, then we'll exceed the last big outbreak in the US of 1,282 cases in 2019 (89% of cases were unvaccinated).
