I was so sad to learn of the UPS cargo MD-11 crash in Louisville on 11/4. As the info trickled in, I thought of the AA191 crash back in 1979, and now we’ve learned it‘s the same cause, with possibly different circumstances. So very tragic.

Just to be clear, I think it’s a great thing, teaching all school children to learn Arabic numerals. We need to get them started young, so they can build on it for the rest of their lives. ;-)

My heart goes out to the families of the 64 people who lost their lives in the AA5342 midair last night. Aircraft crashes always hit me hard, with my Dad and I having been active in aviation for decades. Eerily reminiscent of PSA182. First fatal US airline crash in 16 years. So sad.

Chilly 27°F Saturday, heading down to 9° tonight. It snowed lightly most of the day. I enjoyed today’s snow from the comfort of the DC-3 cockpit, flying from Cold Bay, AK to Dutch Harbor. The kitties enjoyed their view of the deck, squirrels, and birds. Then I went out and shoveled off the driveway…

Quiet Monday, ending the day at -5°F. Nice to see the kitties cuddling up together, as they’re usually in different spots around the room.

With temperatures below 0°F in Littleton, CO, the birds have been especially active outside our kitchen window. #birds
