and yet when *I* gently but firmly caress the bullpen catcher, it's all "you are permanently banned from American Family Field"

I dunno, I wonder if we'll look back in six weeks or six months on Laura Loomer suddenly going scorched earth on the Trump admin (if not Trump himself) and think, "Ah, that makes sense, she knew what was coming."

Then again, she is beyond insane, so who knows?

I mean I was kind of on the fence, but now that I hear that we'll get PAID, damn, I'll work two shifts!

The sound doesn't really add much to the video and I feel like it should have been replaced with someone just making little "doin' a task" noises. Dum de dum dum dum… doot da doo… [aimless whistling]

Right (I did put that in the alt text) but kids these days, no gumption, nobody blowing up Parliament

As symbols of mass resistance go, a mob of Portland Frogs is just so vastly superior to those cringe-ass "V for Vendetta" masks.

LEFT: some schmuck
RIGHT: the righteous manifestation of the People's will
some schmuck in a black hoodie and a "V for Vendetta"/Guy Fawkes mask, who will someday be trying and failing to get laid by telling the story of his Black Bloc heroics our hero, the Portland Frog

I don't see the resemblance, but I for one respect the horny posting for Dr. Crusher, who was fundamentally a horny character in profound ways that fuckboi Riker couldn't begin to match.

The last time I heard "I hate to tell you" said that way was from a mean girl in 6th grade, except that Lisa Spinelli could actually back up her threats and had much higher approval ratings.

You're absolutely not wrong about the relative quality at this point, so shocking has been the WaPo's decline.

But the NYT editorial board alone makes it a question of how hungry you're willing to get before you'll eat the shit sandwich.

(I know, I know. And yeah, I don't have a better solution.)

I have no problem with people livestreaming their deliveries (educational, needs to be demystified) but her split times were terrible and any serious speedrunner could beat it. And that's the glitchless run—the c-section strat means any% is just crazy fast these days.

I (genuinely) love the completely unnecessary techno-scenery they added to the compass. Is it a functional integrated satnav device years ahead of its time? No, but it sure looks like it is!

There are too many names to remember and for a second I couldn't recall whether, e.g., G. Elliott Morris was one of the Good Guys or the Bad Guys.

But this is encouraging:
9/16/25 exchange between G Elliott Morris another Bluesky user:

>> Curious what you think about Nate Silver's weighted average of polls showing little change, really since the first of May.

MORRIS: who?

As for being free to resign, yes, that's always legally true. It may not present as in any way a viable option to his perspective. In any event, I don't see him going anywhere.

FWIW, I was proud of him for talking about his treatment for depression.

The stroke and the sudden behavioral/mood changes coincided on the timeline, so I think that's pretty suggestive, if not iron-clad. Strokes impair cognition, and all your choices are downstream of that. We don't have to directly equate votes we don't like with impairment for the stroke to be causal.

One of the most disagreeable people I've ever met (an aunt) also underwent a whole suite "personality changes" for medical reasons and they made her much nicer. But that sense that she was playing with a broken joystick was really unsettling.

Yeah, I struggle with how to put it, because he's still a sentient human person with a soul, etc. We can't see a millimeter beneath the surface so who knows what's going on in his inmost heart or whatever. But that full measure of "there-ness" is no longer making it to the outside world.

I take zero pleasure in that because, as you say, he's clearly miserable and I don't think leaving the Senate (if he ever does) will fix that. It's just tragic.
spicybonuscontent.bsky.social
There's no good way to say this, but some of the revulsion is because he never fully came back from the stroke. I don't mean (only) intellectually, I mean as a fully coherent entity. Our monkey brains are hardwired to be alarmed by this kind of thing independent of how he votes now.
