Biggest predator you will see here is a cougar, but that is very rare. They have been known to come in on the railway lines, is my understanding. Generally though the biggest predator is a coyote, and they are completely harmless.

It's man I worry about :P

I read an interview where they said they actually had planned to find some dilapidated areas for shooting but couldn't find anything suitable in Alberta and had to dress down nicer areas to get the aesthetic they wanted. They were surprised by how clean and nice Alberta was.

We don't get many in Edmonton, cause we are so much further away from the mountains. In Calgary they come in from Kananaskis.

He had preblocked me... He must be using a block list to avoid detection from NAFO and avoid getting reported.

Amplifying for visibility. If you need to find out where to sign in person (requirement), there is an easy to use visual map of locations. Come on #Alberta, reject Danielle Smith's divisive tactics and tell her Alberta is part of #Canada , period! #ableg #abpoli #cdnpol

When a PACE candidate blocks you on facebook, you know you are doing something right.... No one should vote for a rage farming party that lies to you and pretends they can cut taxes while hiring more cops and fighting a war on drugs. Cops cost money. Lots of it.

Whatever happened to just building a box of a building and then putting some nice bricks and stonework on the outside? Brickwork is probably cheaper than these over engineered monstrosities, fits within the existing building code, and looks great.

Also how population growth works. In 1917 Edmonton had only 50 thousand people. 1.5 million people now call Edmonton home.

The population of Edmonton today is larger than the population of Toronto was in 1950

In the netherlands, every time there is an accident involving a pedestrian there is a mandatory investigation into whether urban design could have caused the problem, and then they fix it so it can't happen again.

The fixes are usually simple and cheap. Like this...

The high speed exit ramp slip lanes that feed directly into an unmarked crosswalk were a design decision someone made in the 70s or 80s... They were a mistake... this intersection could easily and more naturally come to a right angle, forcing cars to slow down.

I've never scrutineer a municipal election so I don't know what their deal is. . . . but in provincial, sometimes the problem is the supervisor and then it is a fight to get them to follow the rules.
squee22.bsky.social
Yes - that's been my experience scrutineer provincial elections. The bad players are usually not able to get away with much for long... but that doesn't mean they don't try, or that they don't screw up. Sometimes badly... Lack of training and incompetence is another issue.

I'm not qualified to be their psychologist....

As we add more people and density to the area, with Blatchford, and NAIT growth we need to do something about the pedestrian safety along kingsway which historically was meant to be a promenade and was never designed to safely handle such high traffic volumes. More accidents will happen

The crossing here over Kingsway which is now lit (used to be unlit) unfortunately had killed two different people over the years. One elderly person and one teenager. The latter killed by a drunk driver who did not see the 16 year old crossing. We fixed that crossing but never looked at the others.

A big problem here is crossing visibility at night. It's a strange intersection and dark at night with a lot of pedestrians, bikes, scooters, and homeless people wandering in and out of the parking lot nearby for the grocery store, alcohol store, while cars take the corner fast off KW #yeg #yegcc

unless a worker was indeed not handing them out... don't assume election workers are always unbiased. Some volunteer for the wrong reasons. It's rare but some do have agendas.

They fear change... that's all it is. Edmoton is the fastest growing city in Canada. It scares the crap out of them.
