Peacemaker Season 2

I can already feel this season is going to have mixed reactions just based on what happens in this season, and honestly I love the slower emotional character driven direction this season took. That season finale had some heartbreaking moments

While the Darth Vader comic by Kieron Gillen doesn’t focus specifically on Vader’s past with R2 and C3, the theme of that run is centered around droids and mechanization in general

Honestly the most interesting thing about these two is how they bring an unnerving aspect that you don’t usually see in droids. Don’t want to spoil how exactly they’re written but 000 specifically is pure dark comedy

Sometimes I think about how one of the best additions to Star Wars is 000 from the Darth Vader comic which is basically “C3P0 if they were fucked up and evil” who is accompanied by BT-1 who is also “R2D2 if they were fucked up and evil”

Secret Avengers

It's super interesting seeing how the 4 different creative teams did their own take on the concept of this group of characters, with Rick Remender's time on the book being my favorite out of all of them. Easily the best avengers run during the early 2010s

Avengers and New Avengers by Brian Michael Bendis

This era of Avengers after Siege is a bit of a mess and all over the place in terms of plot and characters. Certainly feels like a long epilogue for Bendis' New Avengers with nothing too noteworthy about it other than transitioning to the next run.

I'm reminded of this scene I wrote in Darth Vader, which is born of me pitching "Okay - the reason Droids don't generally beat humans in Star Wars is they don't have blood, as that's where midichlorians are. So, how about syringe-powered vampire robots?" and (rightfully) being told no, kieron, no.

Resident Evil 5 with @brodogogo.bsky.social

While the map design and puzzles are extremely linear for an RE game and also plagued with 2000s gaming tropes, I still had a blast playing with a friend. For an RE game based purely on multiplayer, I definitely think it succeeds

Batman Forever (rewatch)

I actually think Joel Schumacher has the potential to make a really cool Batman film, just needs better material to work with. There's a lot of stylized choices in this movie that I actually really like on a production standpoint. Kinda bog standard as a Batman story though

Batman Returns (rewatch)

I watch this movie and forget it's a Batman movie until Batman shows up. What a dull movie that doesn't even have the same atmosphere and presentation like the last one. The script also kind of sucks too
