I have a different favourite series of Trek every day. That's the brilliance of it, each series offers something different and yet at its core is still Trek.

Live long and prosper

Robin Askwith played the role of Marcus Hornby in the British sitcom Benidorm.

I didn't realise until now that the actor who played Marcus Hornby in Benidorm was properly famous.

Source; my old insurance premiums

Insurance for submariners is £££ because after 6 months only being able to see 10m in front of them, depth perception gets screwed and they're more likely to crash after a deployment. I wonder if F1 drivers have high premiums because whenever they see a brake light they think it's just harvesting

I can't even put an Airfix model together in the comfort of my own home and these lot are out here 3D printing things in space.... IN SPACE!

If he doesn't attend, how can they give him his NFL Peace Prize?

Having watched the first 3 episodes of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy I have 1 major issue with this show...

I shouldn't have to wait a week for each new episode. Put them all on now you cowards.

The show executives are without honour.

Big guys shouldn't be allowed to move that fast. The only advantage to being small is I'm supposed to be able to outrun the big fellas

For clarity I should say I love Star Trek and it's message

I once heard someone describe Star Trek as Gay Space Communism and it's a very good description.

The little inlet on the top of the nose; will that move air through the side pods or into the cockpit? I'm trying to decide if it's part of the overall aerodynamics or just something to keep the driver cool... Or possibly both

I missed the birth of my first born because I was on patrol as part of Active Endeavour.

Hugo Boss, although he was a Nazi. Adolf Dassler (founder of Adidas) was German. They should have gone with the Adidas stripes for the cars.

Chocolate digestives! La-di-da someone is doing well for themselves.

When I was growing up in Yorkshire we couldn't afford biscuits. We had to make do with dunking cardboard in our tea

I support the New Orleans Saints in the NFL. I choose them for no other reason than when I first started watching it in the 90s I thought New Orleans sounded exotic and the black and gold jerseys like great.

I'm not a wise man but I'm wise enough to know that going around threatening vikings never ends well

When I was a kid I used to envy the US for having this mysterious Sega console called the Genesis. It wasn't until many years later that I realised it was the same console we had in the UK but had a different name. In the UK it was called the Megadrive

A simple solution to this would be to have a central register of 'qualifications' so if someone joins from another trust their qualifications can be easily checked. I'm guessing it's the inability to verify what training people have had which has led to this nonsense

In the UK, when the Queen died the cost of changing the Royal Crest everywhere (post boxes, military uniform, etc) was so astronomical that we did what we always do and only update it when things need updating like new Royal Mail vans being replaced. There's still 'ER' crowns everywhere even now

My only worry about this show is that Holly Hunters character hasn't sat in the same position on the Captains chair more than once and I just don't see how they can keep that up for more than 2 seasons

Can I ask (purely out of interest) how they share the episodes with you? Do they send you DVDs or is there a secret streaming platform they give you access to?

The wearing of things like this is also cultural as well as religious. I bet there's more than a few Bajorans who wear the earring whilst not been particularly religious.

I really love that Star Trek has done this

Until this tweet i had always assumed it was pronounced like Gaul. Now it seems really obvious that it would be pronounced like Jail

Basically any word ending is 'ize' would be 'ise' in English. So for example, terrorise, specialise, monetise, etc
