It's insane that there is no mass outrage amongst Americans at such totalitarian behaviour. I've never been to America - my wife has. Last year, we discussed going. Not while this administration is in power!

It's idealogical. I think they see anything short of entirely free trade under our own terms as a capitulation, and would prefer no trade whatsoever with EU to anything in between.
