Intro post. I was introduced to D&D and then #WFB 2nd edition at secondary school, but gradually dropped out of the hobby at uni. I was dragged back in via the blogsphere in 2013, painting my first mini in over 20 years for the first #BOYL that year. Something red. 1/7

Mountaineers were WD 116 according to orlygg - realmofchaos80s.blogspot.com/2014/02/acce... - so August 1989.

I carried on playing for another year or so, it was Uni socialising rather than anything game related that stopped me playing.

Definitely coming together. I got impatient last night and started working the nozzle before it was sufficiently set, hopefully I managed to rescue it... I'm pretty confident that I'll have _something_ ready for Friday's game.

Edge highlights need a major clean up but the gun is the focus for now.

It's certainly my intention but who knows? I'm painting so slowly at the moment, and have so much stuff on my priority list, that it will be a while...

I've a few that I'm really not happy with, so probably one day!

At the moment I'm focusing on getting stuff painted. At some point I'll go back over a few minis that I'm not really happy with, but this guy won't be one of them. For me he's above the "good enough" bar. 😀

Undercoated and bearded, but these guys now come to a screeching halt for a few days as I need a different guy ready for Friday

Three 28mm space dwarfs with grey undercoats and black guns. Their hair and beards are the only colours: blonde, salt-and-pepper and brown.

Next mini project. These three space dwarfs (two #Oldhammer Citadel and one from @diehardminiatures.bsky.social ), plus three others that needed a second go in the stripping jar, need to be finished by the end of Oct.

Three bare metal space dwarfs. One in the middle is notably larger than the others. The left one is smallest but has a similar pose to the middle one.

Probably should have included that these are @diehardminiatures.bsky.social Mounted Ravagers. I copied the "box" scheme to save me coming up with a bad one of my own 😬

That in itself has been a useful experience, they're simple in terms of the number of colours used but eye catching.

I'm very pleased with how she's turned out, but getting this mounted thug finished has been a complete slog, and blew through my 31 August goal.

Lovely minis but fiddly and multi-part. Plus the first horse I've painted since my very early days, before the idea of photo references occurred to me!

Very true. My wonderful wife tipped me off to some "Warhammer stuff" in a local charity shop recently (sadly too modern for my taste) they already had someone on the way to potentially snap it up

I always quite wanted a dwarf army, but the second-last time that I fought against them I did rather cringe at their lack of mobility.

The last time I fought against them I really didn't appreciate their organ gun, cannon, etc... 🤨

Will be interested to see this take shape.

If I had infinite time I'd like to create a dark elf force, basically as high elves with crossbows instead of bows. After all, they see themselves as the "correct" elves, right?
