Im not sure if its meant to be, but I hope that someday someone sees ALL of me. Not just the mask and smiles. But sees the crap underneath. The abuse and trauma. The mental illness and, instead of recoiling in disgust, will hold my heart and see how special it is. Even under all the layers beneath.

my favorite thing i did this weekend was watch the sunset turn into pink cotton candy fluff in warmer weather. and when it was fully dark, just standing outside watching planes fly overhead. red and blue and white lights twinkling. a soft and comforting feeling.

i wanted to build himawari as a symbol of someone that comes alive in partnership but is just as alive in solitude. i want you to look in her eyes and feel her sovereignty. but to also see the vulnerable longing and caution she has for connection. but when she’s there, she blooms like a lotus.
