this is not about the US, but is easily applied to the US too.
man it feels so nice and uplifting to help your neighbors and community. to just do the bare minimum. offer your shower, offer to help them cook food or get shelter or watch their kids/pets while they're busy helping someone as well. knowing they'll always help you too. why can't everyone do that..
