Oh, I am 100% admitting that my ick is irrational. Lol I study languages for fun, so I find micro deviations like this one to be super fascinating, but my brain always takes a second to very briefly short out when I hear someone leave out "to be." (1/2)

Every time someone leaves the "to be" out of past participle phrasing (i.e., the blanket needs washed vs. to be washed), I feel like I've gone a little insane. Why is this a thing now? I don't want to be pedantic about grammar, but this one just irks me.
