T3. I suppose I just ended where I was in life because of integration and choices I made specifically… I hope I am strong enough for my decisions in life. #healthxph

T2. I am usually the one is always present at family parties, but since I was away for school and training for most of my adult life, I/they missed out on family fun and togetherness… but I have since made up as much as I could. I’m always the one called on for healthcare-related tasks.#healthxph

T1 Nearly half of physicians report at least one symptom of burnout (about 43–45%). When exhaustion, cynicism and detachment become this common, the risk isn’t mislabeling burnout — it’s normalizing it. #HealthXPh

T1. In my line of work in #MentalHealthcare, it is very easy to burn out and lose focus, especially with the amount of work we have to do. When your main product is your compassion and empathy, attempting to address everyone’s concerns can draining. #healthxph
Lets go to T1: Are we burned out — or have we just gotten very good at calling it something else? #healthxph

T3. What are the dangers/possibilities of this new trend of using AI bots for psychotherapy/psychiatric care/medical care?

That's why there should be an effort to educate the public about AI, like we did with internet, socmed etc. #healthxph
T2. The #tiktok series of that individual was so bizarre, but ultimately, not impossible, because of the AI (that she used as a confidante and therapist) that generally "pushed her" and endlessly validated her. The danger here is that one's decisions can be pushed in the wrong direction. #healthxph

T2. I use AI as an adjunct to my practice, not direct patient care. Train it to sharpen my clinical judgement, structure my teaching and practice make it efficient. I also train it to surface my and it's blindspots or biases. #Healthxph

the extent to which I have experienced AI is watching about it in movies. I wonder if it is time to start exploring this though. #HealthXPH Someone with mental health disorder can tend to isolate and get addicted to social media where "content" is not exactly evidence-based, and might mislead.

T1. As in any medical specialty, humans should lead direct care of any patient. There are other routine, admin task that can be carried out by AI but not direct patient care. #healthxph

T1. What is your opinion in the use of AI bots for psychiatric care and psychotherapy? For your practice in general?

T2. Very recently, I came upon a #Tiktok video of an individual who thought her psychiatrist had fallen in love with her. She ran this through her AI app, which really validated the idea, including her physician friend who allegedly also shared her thoughts validating the matter. #healthxph 1/2

T1. The incident where an AI chatbot led to a vulnerable young person's eventual suicide is a horror story I never wish to encounter in my work. In my locality, I am aware that a lot of individuals do indeed use it for "mental healthcare", as it is more accessible and less stigmatizing. #healthxph

Tonight, I hope to be discussing something very relevant to my profession in mental health... the use of AI chat bots, as a replacement for actual therapy.

In addition, we are also seeing its use as a "medical adviser" for other specialties. Your thoughts on this?

Hi Steph! Just in time. This was bothering me the whole week so I suppose this is a sublimated topic. I do hope we can find solutions to communicate better - both on patient's side for patient advocacy and on healthcare workers' side for inter-hospital communication. #HealthXPH
