First thought: how many bonus episodes of @ifbookspod.bsky.social will this lead to?

Ummm @mimismartypants.bsky.social this book is turning out a lot darker/more intense than I expected so fyi. (I recommended it based on about 1/3 completion.)

As a gift of sorts, a book recommendation: “Poets Square: A Memoir in Thirty Cats” by Courtney Gustafson.

My father-in-law famously wrote a “family update” letter, printed it out, scanned it, and send the scan as an attachment. 🤷‍♀️

So what paper, what date? They’re telling me not one person found this info in 70+ years? What’s the evidence that it was one of the only motels that had a bathtub?
December 24, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Exactly. There were accounts of a man in a specific area desperate for a motel with a bathtub and in all these years no one knew there was a Zodiac Motel there? How did “AI” *discover* that? We have known how to look at old newspapers for a long time, no? If AI found it it is digitized…
December 24, 2025 at 1:53 PM
It was known a man was desperate for a motel room with a bathtub right before a very gruesome murder with no scene ever identified but no one looked at a list of motels in the area and saw “Zodiac”? Does the LA library or archives not have historic business listings, phone books, etc?
December 24, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Apologies, that was meant to include a screen grab.
December 24, 2025 at 1:46 PM
Wait, am I supposed to believe that there were accounts of a man in a specific area desperate for a motel with a bathtub and in all these years no one knew there was a Zodiac Motel there? How did “AI” discover that? We have known how to look at old newspapers for a long time, no?

A very important thread. When I was probably no more than 10, I saw this picture of the woman known as Harlow in the Philly Inquirer. A little babygay, I was shocked that such a glamour queen could live in my hometown and even more shocked to see her described as "a former man."
