I paint a Halloween picture almost every year for October, even though I don’t actually celebrate it. But I just really love cute Halloween pictures—adorable bats! Cute witches! Costumes! Cuddly ghosts! Unfortunately, I also see a lot of gore around that time every year, which I like much less...

I love autumn illustrations because the colors are just so beautiful—like a giant apple world XD! I was about to write, "and no autumn picture is complete without a hedgehog," when I realized I actually forgot to include the hedgehog from the sketch. Oops.

My favorite this year! Cozy, cute, and I love the colors. I also really like the creatures from the imaginary video game for the calendar. Mara (on the right) isn’t in her usual pink, frilly princess look—but the frog with a crown still gives a nod to it.
Also, I need this Blåhaj Kigurumi!

For the July picture, I wanted it to feel warm and have a bit of retro charm. Although, to be honest, I have no idea what retro charm actually is. For me, it feels like I achieved it, but since I don’t really know what defines retro charm, it might just be my own interpretation *laughs*.

Man, I messed up the lighting in this one so badly. I tried so hard, but nope. I even made a digital color sketch beforehand, but I couldn’t fully translate it into the final piece.

In most of the calenders pictures, you can easily tell that they’re digital, but I think this specific image looks fascinatingly similar to the other aquarium pictures I’ve painted traditionally. I think it has a lot to do with the blue overlay.

Another plant-themed picture! I hoped to create a magical lighting atmosphere here. It didn’t quite work out as I envisioned, but it’s still nice.

Every year I draw Terry at the aquarium, but he loves not only aquariums but also music. So I thought, instead of drawing him in an aquarium with a concert T-shirt, I’d draw him at a concert—with an aquarium T-shirt!

I’m always amazed I manage 12 unique illustrations each year (except maybe the aquarium ones). This time, the family is painting themselves on a big canvas, with hints at the edges that they’re still working on it.

Fantasy sea creatures are the best. That way, I don’t have to do research. Yeah, that’s fun.

The twins are playing witches for Christmas... or at least, I think they’re playing?
