Oh uh… no one’s. At least, no one that I know of. I just crawled out of the earth one day a couple months ago. More specifically out of the floor in the chapel. Which is odd, apparently. I’ve heard of accidental summons. Maybe it’s something like that. Either way, I’m happy to be here.

*He takes her hand and shakes it.* Stern. I work down at the food pantry. *He says this with pride. Unlike most ghouls, he wasn’t born with a role already chosen for him. This is a recent development and something that has given his life at the ministry much meaning.*

*Stern looks down at Periwinkle’s glassy eyes and laughs.* No. No, I certainly couldn’t. But who knows, maybe he’s got some dark secrets we don’t know about. Plots to take over the world. Enslave the masses. Anything could hide behind that stony gaze. *Periwinkle blinks one eye, then the other.*

*He shrugs.* It did at first, I guess. When you’re in the pit, humans get tossed in there all the time. But they’re not… good. Evil, but not evil like Him. So I had no gripes about killing them. But animals, they’re you know, innocent. Before I knew how to do it I’d describe the feeling as horror.

Eh… usually I break the neck. Quick and clean. I like to keep its fear to a minimum. S’like fear makes the meat taste bad. I guess it just spoils my appetite.
