I havenโ€™t left Meta, though have spent less time there, transferring my addiction to ๅฐ็บขไนฆ (XiวŽohรณngshลซ), aka Red Note.

We'd be all ๐Ÿ˜†, except this isn't really funny. Yeah, there's a lot of censorship in China. #TikTok refugees who ended up on #RedNote are finding out first hand.

(3/3) As an addendum, Iโ€™m almost certain that not one of my 1,519 Instagram feed posts would run afoul of ๅฐ็บขไนฆโ€™s censorship. So Iโ€™m living in an internationally acceptable public content bubble! Lots of other bubbles, as well! #entitled

(2/3) Iโ€™ve had some pleasant interactions and found many folks who love their DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as much as I love mine.

I am concerned that it will be overrun with American trolls soon. For now, my biggest frustration is that ๅฐ็บขไนฆ โ€” like TikTok โ€” does not enable me to use Swype on my iPad keyboards!

(1/3) Iโ€™m really enjoying ๅฐ็บขไนฆ (XiวŽohรณngshลซ). Iโ€™m mainly lurking, though Iโ€™ve made a few posts. While Iโ€™m well-aware that it shows a very small slice of the Chinese culture and people (wealthy and well-educated), โ€ฆ

At first I was a bit offput by the change, then I realized that as 90+% of my posts โ€” and all of my reels, of course โ€” are vertical, my grid looks better now. I donโ€™t think Iโ€™ve posted more than a couple square images since soon after the 4x5/5x4 options were offered.

The farthest Iโ€™ve driven for fast food was in high school, when we would go from Bloomsburg, PA, to the nearest DQ in Selinsgrove for Flurries.

You can also follow a #meme feed, of course, though I havenโ€™t found any I particularly like.

I havenโ€™t been served many memes either. You may need to follow some meme accounts.

Over the past 15 years, those of us now at Digimentors have often just ๐Ÿ˜ฑ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™‚๏ธ over changes to social media platforms. Mosseri's explanation that people post vertical images is true . . . but the whole zeitgeist of Instagram has always been the square!

[2 of 2] Enjoy this hastily chosen review of the last three years Iโ€™ve been a member. If you havenโ€™t been, you need to go soon. And you donโ€™t have to wait for spring. The deciduous trees show their impressive structures best now! How fitting that the traditional 80th anniversary gift is oak!

[1 of 2] Earlier in the year, I said I would post at least 80 photos from #TylerArboretum to celebrate their 80th anniversary. With almost 1000 pics #shotoniPhone and well over 1000 from my Sony Alpha cameras, I had no shortage of choices.

Or perhaps the question is where will TikTokโ€™s short-form video creators go? Back to Insta? IG makes it almost impossible to discover smaller accounts, so not likely. YouTube? Quite possible, though YT would have to add features for Shorts creators and viewers. A new platform?
