Credit and attention can be given to anybody for anything; success and respect are only earned through hard work.

*ahem* SO ABOUT THAT "FIRST ROUND PICK"

The Las Vegas Aces are WNBA Champions (again)

Wilson didn't look at the rim early in this 4th with Brown on her and the Mercury are back in it.
stevejones20.bsky.social
The Mercury never played the four guard lineup for the Aces off the court. Aces able to stay decisive and stick with switches and help.

What a pass from Jackie Young to A'ja Wilson
stevejones20.bsky.social
Mercury have adjusted to have Alyssa Thomas on Jackie Young, Kalani Brown in guarding A'ja Wilson. Aces with a good counter to have Bell screen for Young to get AT to switch. Brown is in a drop which opens the short roll for A'ja Wilson.

Not a perfect possession but you can see the Magic really trying to get random movement and make quicker decisions on offense.

Good movement from the Orlando Magic to start this game, you see what Desmond Bane handing the ball can open up. Loop Wagner to the wing, backscreen for Paolo. Key is the handoff to Bane with the right corner empty. Franz/Paolo spaced on strong side.

Really a fan of how the Magic have worked to try and clear space. Add cuts from the wing to the list.

Kawhi Leonard drive and kick to Brook Lopez for 3, Clippers have some fun lineups they can throw out there.

The Rockets having multiple double big lineups and sticking with the zone is fun.

Defense will have to continue to be the base for the Rockets but I've liked the activity so far. Sengun switches and then makes sure to switch back. Smith Jr and Eason switch on ball. Sengun sees the cut. Solid work.

KD roaming on the weakside on defense is going to have a lot of value for the Rockets. Offensively the fact that he plays within the flow gives them balance at the end of possessions.

A couple stray Rockets thoughts as I'm watching

Like the mindset from Jabari Smith Jr, active on defense, hitting his switches, if he gets a smaller guard trying to get deep position.

Sheppard is trying to do his job and get the ball where it needs to go but holding up on D
