Did you know the first Chuck E. Cheese was born in San Jose? 🍕🎮
Atari’s founder Nolan Bushnell opened the first Chuck E. Cheese Pizza Time Theatre on Winchester Blvd in 1977 — right where Santana Row is now.
A little piece of Silicon Valley nostalgia that still lives on at the Tully Road location.
Housing Market Update: It’s Not Investors After All

There’s a lot of talk about investors driving up home prices - but the data tells a different story.
Less than 3% of homes last year were bought by large investors.
The bigger issue is a housing shortage that’s been building for years.
San Jose might finally be turning a corner on housing.
A new 708-home project just broke ground near Berryessa BART — part of a 270-acre plan that could add nearly 5,000 homes.
After years of slow progress, this is a big win for Silicon Valley.

Bay Area’s Only Military Commissary Could Close
Moffett Field’s commissary might shut down by 2026 — the only one serving Santa Clara County.
Local leaders say this would create a food desert for military families already facing high costs.
Community and leadership support are crucial right now.
California Dream for All returns in 2026 🏡💰

Why Bay Area cities are being rebuilt from the ground up

The Bay Area’s construction boom isn’t just about housing — it’s about a total redesign of how cities grow. Local governments are creating walkable, transit-connected neighborhoods that make car-free living possible. #bayarea
California just banned AI price fixing 🤖

If companies are using algorithms to secretly coordinate prices, it’s now officially illegal in California.
Governor Newsom’s AB325 aims to keep tech-driven markets fair — especially as AI becomes part of everything we buy.

California insurers say climate change is too risky… then invest billions in oil and gas.
Feels like a double standard.
Europe’s already cutting ties with fossil fuels - why not here?

Thinking condos are the affordable option in San Jose? 🏘️

You’re not wrong - but you are buying into an HOA, and that changes everything.

Michelin Meets the Mission: La Taqueria Gets Its Star Moment 🌯⭐

A beloved San Francisco institution is finally getting Michelin recognition.
La Taqueria, family-run since 1973, has officially been added to the 2025 Michelin Guide.

A reminder that extraordinary street food can be world class.
A Carlsbad homeowner just got hit with a $1.4M fine for blocking a public beach trail.
The gate’s open now - but it’s got Californians asking: where’s the line between private property and public land?

Update on pricing

Dynamic pricing is apparently effectively optimizing prices. That $48K seat already looks like a deal. New Jersey is selling at $58K already with over a million tickets already sold. Imagine as the supply runs lower. $100K per seat is around the corner.

Bay Area logic: $60 tickets that cost $48,000 😅⚽️

FIFA’s bringing six World Cup games to Levi’s Stadium - but even soccer’s got Bay Area pricing now. Blame Dynamic Pricing.

California just passed a first-of-its-kind allergen menu law 👏

California’s backup home insurance plan almost went under.

The FAIR Plan - the “last resort” for high-risk homes - was nearly bankrupted by this year’s wildfires.
A new law now lets it borrow and repay over time instead of demanding instant bailouts.
 Smart fix or Band-Aid?
California wildfire data just revealed something crucial about home survival rates

• fire-resistant materials installed

Stanford’s #1. Berkeley’s Top 10. But San Jose State breaking into the Top 20 - and UC Merced’s huge leap - prove the Bay Area is more than tech. It’s one of the most powerful education hubs in the country.
